Delete your Kitty Keeper data
Kitty Keeper, by Earthstorm Software, has no accounts, so you delete your data from inside the app. Here's how, and what happens to it.
In the app
- Open Kitty Keeper.
- On the list of kitties, tap the ⋮ menu and choose Sync and devices.
- Tap Delete my data.
- If you also want to remove the kitties from this phone, tick Also delete all kitties on this device.
- Tap Delete.
This erases your data from our server straight away. Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on your device.
If you have a Premium subscription, cancel it in Google Play as well (Play Store › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions). Deleting your data removes our record of it, but doesn’t stop Google charging you.

What’s deleted
- Your devices: their models, platforms and names.
- Your encrypted recovery data.
- Your subscription record (the Google Play purchase token).
- Your membership of every kitty, and any shared kitty no one else is in.
What’s kept
Money in and expenses you added to a kitty shared with other people stay, encrypted, as part of their records, so their numbers still add up. They’re deleted when the last person leaves that kitty. Server logs, which can include your IP address, are kept for 30 days.
Why it has to be done in the app
Kitty Keeper has no accounts, so we don’t know your name or email address, and we can’t tell from an email whose data is whose. The only proof of who you are is the secret key your device holds, so we can’t delete (or send) anyone’s data because of an email: that has to be done in the app. The privacy policy explains this in more detail.
If you no longer have your phone
You can:
- install Kitty Keeper on a new device, restore with your recovery code, then follow the steps above, or
- do nothing: if none of your devices syncs for 12 months, we erase your data automatically.
